Can’t be bothered setting up a Japanese Xbox Live account? You’re in luck. According to Major Nelson, the Ninja Gaiden 2 demo will arrive tomorrow at 2:00 AM PT, in all regions except Germany and India. That’s about eight and a half hours from now - which makes knocking off work tonight seem a lot more exciting.
The demo for Ninja Gaiden 2 has arrived…in Japan. Those of you with Japanese Xbox Live accounts (and I assume there’s probably more fake accounts than real ones) will probably need no encouragement to get on the download. Those of you who don’t have Japanese Xbox Live accounts will probably want to see this Destructoid post running you through the process.
Treasure’s cult hit Ikaruga is ready for release on Xbox Live this Wednesday. The Xbox Live incarnation features cooperative play over Xbox Live and will cost 800 Microsoft points.
For the uninitiated, Ikaruga adds a simple, yet effective twist to the scrolling shooter - enemies, their projectiles, and your ship are all one of two colors. Your ship absorbs projectiles of the same color, and you can switch colors with a button press.
Check after the jump for a video of a ridiculously coordinated chap controlling both ships in a 2 player game.
Has your quest for a massive Gamerscore lead you to save game tampering and other clearly dodgy means? You had better watch out - Major Nelson has announced a crack down on Gamerwhores, starting today with the most serious offenders.
Capcom has announced a release date for the long-awaited Devil May Cry 4 demo - Thursday, January 24, 2008. The demo will arrive at 2am PST on Xbox Live and between 2 and 3pm PST on the PlayStation Store.
It’s not often that those of us outside North America get to play a game first - but that’s exactly the situation with the new Turok demo. OK, so it’s not a full game - but let us have our fun for once. The demo arrived on Xbox Live for Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and United Kingdom. Sorry to those of you in the US and Canada, we have no information regarding when you will be getting your hands on this one.
The demo for Burnout Paradise has just been released on Xbox Live. Weighing in at 835MB, the demo features three maps and online multiplayer - what are you waiting for?
When your XBL friends list starts approaching 100, its time to think about giving certain friends the flick to make room for others. While this can make for a socially awkward situation, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg told 1UP that the problem will eventually be solved once they get over some technical hurdles
I think it’s something we definitely want to do and something we’re looking at doing in the future, but it’s been more technically complicated than anyone anticipated, so it’s taking longer than we had hoped…We will get there in the future.
There’s some interdependences. Some things like original Xbox games have friends lists hard coded in, so there’s things we gotta work through, but we’ll get it figured out, it’s something we want to do. Still, the majority of Live users don’t even have 30 friends. But, I agree, my list is full. [laughs]
The first video for Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball has hit and is looking very nice. The lush graphics and frantic game play certainly look to hit the spot – maybe even enough to make this a cult hit. Sorry to those salivating at a chance to play, the best fix we have on a release is early 2008.
The last few days have seen considerable chatter surrounding the above video submitted by the folks over at GayGamer. Over 11 different Halo matches, it recounts the unbridled homophobia towards the gamer “xxxGayBoyxxx” on XboxLive, whilst raising few eyebrows amongst the gaming community.
In his reply to GayGamer, Xbox Community leader Major Nelson offered the following advice to all gamers: only play online with friends, turn off voice for non-friends, and first and foremost, file a communications complaint through the dash feedback system. Microsoft takes these complaints very seriously, according to the Major. But if we were to log every sexist, racist or homophobic comment heard on XBL I don’t think we’d be getting much playing done.
