PlayStation 3 owners are most likely aware by now that Sony’s multiplayer-only game Warhawk has been released onto the PlayStation Network. However, anyone who was looking to offset the massive US$40 price of the game by sharing it with their friends should take note, as unlike every PSN title to date, Warhawk cannot be shared with other consoles.

An update over at PlayStation.Blog offers up a rare look inside the server room of a PlayStation Network title…although something tells me if I was a game developer with this much hardware to play with, I’d want to post pics on the interweb too.
There’s also a couple of tasty details on Warhawk - first up is a global server list with easy identification of the official dedicated servers, which will be refreshing for any console gamers who have experienced the ease of finding a server for PC games. For those who prefer their multiplayer experience in the living room with three friends and a case of beer, Warhawk will support four-player split-screen - even on a console hosting an online game.

Like packaging? Here’s a tasty morsel. The physically-distributed Warhawk will be bundled with a Jabra BT125 Bluetooth headset, and will be available in stores for $60 on the 28th of August. The game will also be available as a paid download from the Playstation Store, however no price has been announced. The bundled headset is a great move by Sony to get people talking online - a majority of the online Resistance matches I’ve experienced were completely silent, and kind of boring as a result.
