If there’s one thing that garners street cred, its being associated with violent crime, especially of the black market variety. Last weekend a truck carrying over 1,000 boxes of the now-truly-badass game Rock Band was hijacked, its driver held up at gunpoint and kidnapped for over an hour. Crazed videogame kids or professional criminals? The truck was apparently unmarked and the cargo picked up late Saturday night, giving the Fuzz reason to believe that it was an inside job.

Colorado Church Shooter killed because of lack of games

When the media went to see if they could uncover any game related motive in the Colorado Church Shootings they came to a shocking discovery. The shooter, Matthew Murray, was actually not allowed to play games during his youth. This was obviously the media’s first taste of “reverse video game frenzies”, as the Denver Post reports:

On another website, a poster named nghtmrchld26, believed by police to be Murray, said he rebelled against an upbringing that forbade him from buying rock music, video games and popular DVDs.

Those damn video games, they cause you to be a menace to society even when you aren’t playing them!
