Missing your fix of zombie hobos, exploding babies and grizzly blood splattered backgrounds? Maybe you need to check out this new video for Condemned 2. While the game looks to be coming along nicely I have two gripes with the video. Firstly the Mickey Rourke-esque tough guy voice is a little obsolete now that game protagonists have emotion and motive; and secondly, the blobs of texture that are meant to be rubbish or dirt make it look very last gen. I guess we will see how it turns out on its February 26th release.
Many were disappointed with LittleBigPlanet’s lack of a demo last December, and while we still have no info when the demo will be out, we at least have confirmation via this video that it is still on the cards. The only clues we have are that it will be a public beta, and that it will be far enough ahead of the games release to make the necessary changes to the final product. Hit up the above video for more info and some tasty gameplay footage.
What with Duke Nukem Forever getting a trailer release it seems like it’s the season for releasing trailers of games that we thought were dead. This time it’s Highlander, that was initially announced in 2004. Like the Duke Nukem trailer this one is void of any game play and is of pretty crappy quality. On the upside the voice acting seems pretty good and it looks like it had some pretty intricate and expansive backgrounds.
Budcat Creations have started an IGN blog, with the debut post from lead programmer Marcus R Brown giving some insight into how the free shooter TUMIKI Fighters has evolved into Blast Works. Check out the embedded video to see what a skilled designer can do with the ship editor included with Blast Works.
If you are hanging out for more Soul Calibur IV news, then this interview with director Katsutoshi Sasaki is just what the doctor ordered. Katsutoshi talks about the decision to include Vader and Yoda in the game, as well as touching upon increased level interactivity and the possibility of instant kill moves. That’s all well and good, but after watching the intro of the video the highest priority on our list is the option to turn down the bloom effect.
This new clip from Capcom explains Bionic Commando’s swinging action. If you were thinking it would simply be an automatic lock-on system like the Spider-Man games then think again – Bionic Commando is going to require some skill. I’m sure the game will get intuitive once you get the hang of it, but it’s possible the beginning difficulty will deter a few gamers.
Raiden Fighters Aces is a compilation of Raiden Fighters, Raiden Fighters II, and Raiden Fighters Jet heading to the Xbox 360 - although we have no idea if it is a Live Arcade title or a retail release. Fingers crossed for the former. The embedded video would be tiny, so check it out at Gametrailers.
Well, well, well.. Who would have thought 3D Realms would actually release a Duke Nukem Forever trailer? And here we were thinking that news regarding its development was just some inside industry joke. We now have to ask: if/when this gets released, will it even have the same politically incorrect charm of the original shooter now that the world has changed from the one it left 10 years ago?
