Super Mario Galaxy: best selling Mario game in the US yet

best selling Mario game in the US yet

Given the rave reviews, Super Mario Galaxy isn’t doing quite as well in some countries as you would expect - although it is selling fast in the US. Weekly sales figures are the highest they have ever been for a Mario game, with 500,000 units flying off the shelves last week.

Fully playable Mario Galaxy leaked

According to the NeoGAF forums, the code for Mario Galaxy has made its way onto various dark corners of the internet. Demo copies of the game had been sent around to Electronics Boutique stores, with a ten minute time limit when played on EB proprietary demo machines. But upon discovering that the disc contains the full game, and that the ten-minute limit disappears when placed in a consumer machine, one scoundrel EB employee managed to swipe a disc, copy its data and upload its contents to a torrent site – allowing anyone with a modded Wii to play the game in its entirety.

Play Super Mario Galaxy and SSB Brawl at E for All

Nintendo are going to be offering play time with Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl at the E for All Expo in Los Angeles from October 18-22. Daily tournaments of Super Smash Bros. Brawl are also planned with participants taking home a different Wii shirt each day.

Super Mario Galaxy gets release date for Australia

Hot off the Nintendo of Australia SMTP server comes some information we’ve all been waiting for. While some leaked information regarding the European release led many to believe we’d be getting Super Mario Galaxy on November 16th, Nintendo have now confirmed the release date will be nearly two weeks later on November 29th. Hooray.
