Awesome multipoint Street Fighter figurines

These Street Fighter figurines are a must-have for any fan or even anyone who has glanced at an arcade machine. The figurines stand 7″ tall and boast 33 points of movement so you can replicate all your favorite moves. So far the set only features Ryu, Ken and Akuma but hopefully there are more on the way. The figurines will each set you back US$21.90 from Play Asia. Check after the jump for a few more pictures.

SFHD – First gameplay video, sneaky screenshot

October 19th, 2007

While you’re still recovering from the shock and awe that was the SF4 announcement/trailer, we have an update on Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. At the Capcom Gamer’s Day in London, this guy managed to evade persecution from PR goons and sneak in a quick video recording via his camera phone. So don’t be alarmed, the framerate is much better than it looks, but you should get an idea of some of the remix mode changes to Ryu and Ken.

Street Fighter HD Remix - The Widescreen Dilemma

July 21st, 2007

The latest post on Capcom staffer Brian Dunn’s blog touches on an unfortunate downside regarding the HD-ifying of Street Fighter.

One thing I brought up with him earlier today was the 16:9 versus 4:3 concerns that have been coming up, because I wanted to have a response to share with you. Basically he is well aware that HD means widescreen, and he is well aware that taking a 4:3 game and increasing the width of the playing field would greatly change the dynamics of the game. Rey is currently working on options to address this, including having some sort of artwork or something fill in the side bars left by having the 4:3 play screen in the middle of the widescreen area. So that’s currently under evaluation, and it definitely won’t change the gameplay in a negative way.

Here’s a crazy idea, Capcom - how about giving the user the choice between a wider playing field and side bars?

Hevad Khan: from Street Fighter to World Series of Poker

July 18th, 2007

Come on, show me your mean face!

Heard of Hevad Khan before? Didn’t think so. The 22-year-old from New York just finished 6th at the World Series of Poker, walking away with a cool US$956,000. His brutal training regime leading up to the event saw him playing 26 tables of Poker online simultaneously, but his talent doesn’t end there. He’s played both Street Fighter and Starcraft at a competitive level, and has been clocked playing Starcraft at a whopping 500 actions per minute. Of course, people with this kind of horsepower under the hood tend to be a little odd, and Hevad doesn’t disappoint - after taking the chip lead on Day 5 of the World Series he screamed, put a chair on his head and said “Do you like my new hat? Does it look good?”
