It’s a big day for Australian releases today. I’m just about to nick down to the shops and pick up a copy of Super Mario Galaxy - which of the following will you be picking up?
- Need for Speed: ProStreet (PS2, PC, Wii, 360, DS, PSP)
- Stranglehold (PS3)
- Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
- Unreal Tournament III (PC)

Midway, the developer behind such classics as Mortal Kombat, The Suffering, Gauntlet and Stranglehold has seen it fit to release an art book titled, The Art of Midway: Before Pixels and Polygon. The book features around 200 works of art from many of Midway’s illustrious franchises. While it might not be everyone’s cup of tea it’s defiantly nice to see a bit more of a caring approach to game artist’s work rather than the usual pre-release concept art on a website.

In a move that’s sure to drive more than a few Xbox 360 sales, Midway have announced the minimum PC specifications required to run John Woo presents Stranglehold:
- Dual Core Processor
- 2 GB of RAM
- NVIDIA 7800 or ATI x1300
- 15 GB of disk space
Remember, these aren’t the recommended specifications - it’s the bare minimum required to get the game running. Anyone after 1900×1200 resolution at a decent framerate might want to look at offloading a kidney.

The demo for John Woo presents Stranglehold is now available on Xbox Live. Here’s my four word review: John Woo video game. Although, if I were required to be doubly succinct, I would have used: Download now.
The full game hits the Xbox 360 and PC on August 27, and the PlayStation 3 on September 17. Demos for the PC and PlayStation 3 will be available soon.
