Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater was an instant hit when it arrived on the PSone in 1999, but after seven sequels, countless ports, and newfound competition from EA’s skate, Neversoft was always going to have to go all out with Proving Ground to keep the series from going stale. Did they pull it off?

Next Level Games, best known for developing the Mario Strikers games, has kicked off celebrations of their fifth anniversary by having several of their artists design and hand-paint video game related designs onto skateboards. The one-of-a-kind decks are currently being auctioned off on their website, with all proceeds being donated to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The auction closes on October 31st, and many of the designs have yet to receive bids, still sitting at their starting price of CAD$50.
