Quarterly financial statements are not exactly the kind of place where you would drop big news like this, but that’s how Ubisoft chooses to roll. According to said statement, fiscal year 2008 - 2009 will see the arrival of a new Prince of Persia title.
But that’s pretty much the extent of the details. Ubisoft are unwilling to divulge any information as to which platforms will be getting it, or who they’ve got working on the project

Jerry Bruckheimer has said in a Collider.com interview that he plans to start shooting Prince of Persia in June. The plans are still up in the air though with the writers’ strike still in force. Bruckheimer is very positive about the projects recently appointed director, Mike Newell, saying:
“He’s a very inventive, ingenious director, and I think he’s going to bring something really special to it. We have a screenplay, we’re just starting to develop.”

Mike Newell, director of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is rumoured to be set to direct the long planed Prince of Persia movie. The movie has been in development for quite a while now, under the production of media mega-force Jerry Bruckheimer. We have it on good authority that the script, written by series creator Jordan Mechner, is already finished and that Newell is still in talks to direct.
Could the man who has arguably directed the best Harry Potter movie produce one of the first good video game movies?
