Twitter has become quite an interesting Tour de Force website. One would think that only having 140 characters would hinder people, but somehow everyone is doing it. Not to be kept out of the social media loop two companies have hopped on the bandwagon. One definitely understands the medium, the other seems to have joined but hasn’t implemented much.
If you’ve ever been to a site like deviantART before, you’ll realize there’s no shortage of incredibly talented artists out there creating amazing video game fan art just for the love of it. Hopefully a few of those artists are reading this, or already know about the Street Fighter IV competition that Don’t Panic are running at the moment, because this time, they can win something other than geek cred.
The winner receives an original piece of Street Fighter IV artwork signed by producer Yoshinori Ono, a PlayStation 3, a copy of Street Fighter IV, copies of other classic Capcom titles, and gets their art distributed on 100,000 posters.
My Grand Theft Auto IV comedown just got a lot easier thanks to a relief package from Ubisoft that turned up today, containing Haze and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. Look for reviews in the coming weeks.
So with me sorted for the weekend, what are you playing?
If you were curious about the packaging for the Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition you’re just about to spend way too much money on, then…you can stop that.
An Australian retail employee has obviously found the crate marked “DO NOT OPEN UNTIL APRIL 28TH” somewhere out the back, and took six happy snaps of the retail packaging, and what’s inside - check them out after the jump.
If LOLCats weren’t quite nerdy enough for you, you’ll be glad to hear that the makers of I Can Has Cheezburger recently launched a new site called GraphJam.
Mike Masnick over at Techdirt posted an interesting article on the emotions that first person shooters evoke in players. The part worthy of mentioning is the possibility that players actually enjoy getting killed. Apparently, hunting other players increases players’ stress and dying acts as a sort of relief mechanism.

According to the Blog Readability Test, The Gamer Gene ranks alongside Level Up and Ars Technica as a gaming blog you’ll need more than just a paltry degree to wrap your head around.

It would appear that Team Ninja would like to send us a clear message: Ninja Gaiden 2 will not be short of blood and gore. The video above reveals some swift hack & slash gameplay too. The game will feature an all new arsenal of ninja weapons and magic, delivered through a new gameplay engine. And it shouldnt be too long before a concrete 2008 release date is named for it, either.
It appears nothing gets past the hawkeyed game-fan, and as evidence I cite the recent Deus Ex 3 teaser. The trailer contained about 1 second of visual information revealing anything about the game, but that one second was enough to generate a rumble of speculation from PC Zone Magazine’s editor. It appears that two versions of the official trailer were released, with the second one edited to remove the conspicuous year “2027″ from sight. The date bears heavy significance, as it could be evidence that the game is set some 20-odd years before the original Deus Ex, making it a prequel.
