Just incase you were looking for another good reason to own a Nintendo DS, the latest issue of Famitsu reports that the next iteration of SNK Playmore’s never-ending franchise Metal Slug will be coming exclusively to Nintendo’s latest dominating handheld.

While Metal Slug is one of my fondest memories of the arcade era, the thought of shelling out for the Wii collection for a bit of short-lived nostalgia just doesn’t appeal.
Thankfully, SNK have announced that Metal Slug 3 is coming to Xbox Live Arcade, and will be playable at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show. No price or release date has been announced, but one could reasonably expect an 800 point price tag and a release by Christmas this year - significantly more compatible with an impulse buy than the Wii collection, at least until it hits the bargain bins.
