Bad news for Mass Effect fans in Canada, Australia and South America, you will not be able to buy a Collector’s Edition Mass Effect. Don’t count your blessings yet US and UK readers, it’s pretty topsy turvy for you too.

It looks like BioWare don’t take the term achievement lightly because many of these are quite tough and will require playing through the game multiple times. Of course the usual disclaimer applies; if you enjoy surprises don’t look after the jump.
This Sunday brought deals a plenty from Best Buy with the biggest being a free bundling of Heroes Season 1 on HD DVD with the purchase of a HD DVD drive for the 360. The HD box-set normally retails for $99 and with the HD DVD drive selling at $179.99 you are getting an amazingly good deal. Other deals include a free comic with a purchase of Conan, a wrasslin’demo when you pre-order Smackdown vs Raw 2008 and a free bonus disc with pictures, trailers and songs when you pre-order Mass Effect.
While the other retailers didn’t have much to offer, rumor has it that next week Circuit City will be offering a free guitar stand with Guitar Hero III and a free Homer ball with The Simpsons Game.

A blockbuster game like Mass Effect requires a blockbuster cast, or so the reasoning goes from Bioware and Microsoft. They’ve poached Seth Green to play the voice of Joker, the pilot of the Normandy. Having much voice-acting experience with the legendary Robot Chicken and Family Guy, Green appears to be a sensible choice. Keith David, the voice of the Arbiter in Halo 3, will take on the role of Captain David Anderson and Lance Henriksen, of Alien fame, will play Admiral Steven Hackett.
