PS3 gets exclusive Lost Planet character

It turns out Playstation 3 owners aren’t just getting a straight port – with the exclusive option to play as Luka, the leader of the Snow Pirates from the original game. They will also get Joe, Mega Man, and Dead Rising’s Frank West who all were playable in the PC version of the game.

With the game still some way off from its release on February 21, I would not be surprised if more content is announced soon.

Lost Planet heading for the PS3

Originally released for the Xbox 360 and PC, the frozen wasteland shooter will finally be making its way to the PS3. It has been speculated the move has come to quell anger over Capcom’s flip flopping of Monster Hunter 3 from PS3 exclusive to Wii exclusive. The PS3 version of the game will feature all past downloadable content already on the disc and 16 player multiplayer has been confirmed.

If you want a refresher of what the game involves you can check out our PC review here.

On the other hand, our newly hired PC reviewer Justin has just spent some quality time with the game, and is glad to report that this time around, it’s not just a shadow of its former console-compatible self – indeed, it’s a little closer to the game it should have been the first time around, thanks to a honed control scheme.
