After months of looking forward to the tentative Q4 2007 release date, Sierra has crushed my hopes of playing Geometry Wars: Galaxies this year - pushing the release date back to January 18, 2008. It is unknown whether this is due to the title being unfinished, or Sierra having concerns about Galaxies’ ability to compete with the endless list of Christmas blockbusters.

I absolutely love Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. My friends do too - but they much prefer watching me play it than giving it a go themselves - it seems those who weren’t raised by a dual-analog controller have major difficulty surviving for more than 30 seconds.
That’s why Galaxies has me all hot and bothered. The Wiimote control scheme means everyone will give it a go, and two-player mode means that an experienced player can ease the learning curve for a struggling noob.
It’s just unfortunate that this otherwise spot-on TV commercial for the game is marred by a cover version of the surprisingly relevant They Might Be Giants song “Particle Man” - way to simultaneously gain and lose a ton of brownie points!
