I got my hands on Guitar Hero III at GC, and while the tracks on offer in the demonstration build were particularly underwhelming, the appearance of Pearl Jam meant I could give it a decent run for its money.
Hit the jump for a full video of me hacking my way through “Evenflow” on Hard, and my impressions.

I caught up with Chad Finley, project lead of Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground, today at GC07 for a quick chat, while another Neversoft employee showed off her insane (albeit virtual) skateboarding skills in the background.

Now I’m not exactly an RPG kinda guy, sure I’ve dabbled, but they don’t usually seem to be at the top of my gaming priority list. However, the latest offering from Polish developers CD Projekt, The Witcher, looks like its going to throw that whole list out of whack come October. For a detailed list of reasons why, hit the jump.

I caught up with Pawel Kopinski from Techland today at GC for a sneak-peek at their upcoming mercenary first-person shooter, Warhound. While it’s absolutely packed with features, the main selling point of Warhound is the freedom of choice. Players can attack each level how they see fit - go in with all guns blazing, or opt for the stealthy approach - a welcome change from titles that force you to take one method throughout the entire game.

A representative from Gaming Culture learned a valuable lesson today during the Konami press conference at Leipzig Games Convention - ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer. One would assume being given the opportunity to ask Hideo Kojima a question with all of the world’s major game press in attendance, would warrant a question of substance. Looks like someone had other ideas…
“I’d like to ask if the final game will support rumble.”
While developer Ken Imaizumi was particularly tactful in his response, essentially “we wish,” Kojima added:
Let me add what I think every day when I am developing. At Kojima Productions, there is a guy who is a specialist doing the rumble feature. We call him “the rumble guy.” Right now, he has nothing to do. I am really worried what I should make him do - so I really hope […] I can make use of him.
Ouch.

Naruto’s creators have touted it as the most important phenomenon in the manga/anime since the early days of Dragon Ball Z. While fans of the mischievous ninja-to-be will be delighted to see the series make it to the Xbox 360, those not yet converted to Naruto’s strong fictional universe may be won over by this release.

In between cigarette breaks at Leipzig, EA were showing off their latest NFS installment. While the trailer showcases some of the fine damage modeling, detailed environment and sweet tyre smoke in the game, we’re told you can expect even more in terms of strategic AI in this one.
