I’ve seen plenty of video game cakes in my time - but they pale in comparison to this amazingly detailed piece of 100% edible art. I think I’d feel guilty eating a piece. Click through for close-ups.

Place a cutesy item in an area void of cute things and people will go nuts for it. This has never been truer than with the Weighted Companion Cube, and as is the tradition with all baking gamers a cake must be made out of it. If a box with hearts on it is your nirvana, then bask in the bliss because this is as good as it gets.

Kotaku reader and Blizzard Entertainment employee Cory has provided pictures of the ultimate geek wedding. Yes, that’s a three tier Mario cake, complete with oddly-placed underwater level, made by professional cake maker Erica Obrien.
Armed with the knowledge that video game cakes are a fairly common occurrence these days, Cory had Union Ice sculpt a very special ice luge - the Master Sword and Hylien Shield from The Legend of Zelda.

I’m a big fan of Guitar Hero - I spent the better part of a week leading up to my recent 24th birthday hammering away furiously at the last six tracks of Guitar Hero 2 on Expert…and my marathon sessions with the game are undoubtedly what lead to the death of my first Xbox 360. While I’m quite the whiz on a plastic guitar, my girlfriend Kate has more palettable talents - and quite a knack for turning whatever gadgets I’m really into leading up to my birthdays into edible format. Two years ago it was a deadly-accurate recreation of a Nord Modular G2 synthesizer, this year…I really should have seen this one coming.
