Capcom has announced a release date for the long-awaited Devil May Cry 4 demo - Thursday, January 24, 2008. The demo will arrive at 2am PST on Xbox Live and between 2 and 3pm PST on the PlayStation Store.

Capcom has released 40 new screenshots of Devil May Cry 4, making the game a sure bet for The Gamer Gene’s prestigious “Most screenshots released in 2007 for a game coming out in 2008″ award.

Capcom has announced a playable demo of Devil May Cry 4 will hit the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace in early 2008. The demo will take players through a variety of the game’s environments and familiarize them with Nero, the Devil Bringer and the Exceed system before a final showdown with Berial. If you think the game looks great in screenshots or streaming videos, just wait until you see it in 60 frames per second at 720p.
Capcom today announced the contents of the Devil May Cry 4 Collector’s Edition package - along with the game disc, the Steelbook case contains a DVD with the first four episodes of ADV Films’ Devil May Cry: The Animated Series, and a second bonus DVD containing a “making of” video, a digital art book, music from the game soundtrack, wallpapers and other crap for your computer.
The $79.99 package will be available February 5, 2008 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Capcom has sprung for a dedicated Devil May Cry 4 stand at the Leipzig Games Convention next week, and will be showing off the game running on Xbox 360 hardware for the first time. Of course, there’s a whole stand to fill, so the game will also be playable on PlayStation 3 hardware.
There’s no word yet on how much of the game we’ll see, but The Gamer Gene will be at the convention with HD video cameras in tow - so you’ll experience it all, not long after we do. Make sure to check back next week for all the Leipzig coverage you can eat.

The development team behind Devil May Cry 4 have just released 19 new screenshots from a cut-scene that occurs early in the game, and introduces some new characters - Credo, the leader of the Magic Sword Cult, the Cult’s chief weapons researcher Agnus, and the token female member of the cult, Gloria.
