PSP Skype Delayed in Japan

Japanese PSP owners will be disappointed to hear that they will not be using Skype this month, while the rest of the world does. The plug was pulled at the last minute, due to a problem with the PSP microphone peripheral.

While Sony Japan had originally prepared two first-party PSP compatible mic packages, they had failed in checking if the microphones actually met the Skyhpe specifications necessary for certification. As PSP users in North America and the rest of the world are using the PSP headset as the standard input device, they are not affected by this little blunder.

PS3 woes: Juiced 2 delayed, Stuntman: Ignition possibly cancelled

THQ have delayed Juiced 2: Import Nights for the PlayStation 3 until October, and removed the PlayStation 3 version of Stuntman: Ignition from their release schedule.

I’m going to take a wild guess and say this is due to the difficulty of programming for the Cell processor. If the brains at Epic had problems getting the Unreal Engine to fly on the Cell, it’s not outrageous to assume that other developers are sitting around scratching their heads, waiting for the SWAT team of Sony engineers to visit their offices and save the day.
