UK gets a nice PS3 bundle

Sony have a new PS3 bundle coming out for those in the UK. The bundle features a 40GB PS3 with two recent big name releases for only £349.99. With the console normally retailing for £299, this ain’t a bad deal. The most notable games available for the bundle are Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, and SingStar (with microphone).

Assassin’s Creed launches in Australia and New Zealand

Ubisoft just sent out an e-mail reminding us that Assassin’s Creed is now available in stores across Australia and New Zealand. I’ve embedded the TV advertisement currently airing, featuring Massive Attack’s Teardrop.

Those of you who can get to a JB Hi-Fi can get the PlayStation 3 version for free if you trade in two PS3 games, or the Xbox 360 version for free if you trade in three Xbox 360 games - so ring your nearest store and ask about the conditions.

This Sunday brought deals a plenty from Best Buy with the biggest being a free bundling of Heroes Season 1 on HD DVD with the purchase of a HD DVD drive for the 360. The HD box-set normally retails for $99 and with the HD DVD drive selling at $179.99 you are getting an amazingly good deal. Other deals include a free comic with a purchase of Conan, a wrasslin’demo when you pre-order Smackdown vs Raw 2008 and a free bonus disc with pictures, trailers and songs when you pre-order Mass Effect.

While the other retailers didn’t have much to offer, rumor has it that next week Circuit City will be offering a free guitar stand with Guitar Hero III and a free Homer ball with The Simpsons Game.
