The upcoming Turok game is set to feature a star studded lineup of voice actors. Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood, Hitman), Powers Boothe (Deadwood, Sin City), Ron Perlman (Hellboy and a million other projects), William Fichtner (Prison Break, Invasion) and Donnie Wahlberg (New Kids on the Block) are among the actors working on the game, due out on February 5 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The plot for the game revolves around the player taking control of Joseph Turok (voiced by Gregory Norman Cruz), who has set down on a strange planet with his team known as Whiskey Company, comprising of Cowboy (Timothy Olyphant), Slade (Ron Perlman), Shepard (Donnie Wahlberg) and Logan (William Fichtner). Turok’s mission is to take down his fromer mentor, Roland Kane (Powers Boothe) and his army, the Mendel-Gruman Corporation. Of course, there will be lots of dinosaurs.
“The actors who lent their voices to Turok are a testament to both the magnitude of the project and the interest of top-notch talent,” said Josh Holmes, vice president and general manager of Propaganda Games. “The characters in the story are paramount to the experience and we have assembled an outstanding cast to assure high quality performances across the board.”

Following Germany’s decision to deny Jericho a rating, Codemasters faced a similar predicament to Take-Two with Manhunt 2: either edit/remove content, or stand their ground on the game’s artistic merits. Their decision to proceed with the latter is an admirable one, but will also serve to irritate German Xbox and PS3 gamers.
Explaining their reasons behind the tough choice, Codemasters told GamesIndustryBiz,
Codemasters respects Mr Barker’s creative ideas, despite the German distribution and marketing consequences for the title. Therefore Codemasters will release only the PC version of Clive Barker’s Jericho in its original form for adult gamers and Clive Barker fans

Which means that by October 10 we’ll be enjoying Valve’s compilation which packs Half Life 2 (Episodes 1 & 2), Portal and Team Fortress 2. The PS3 version has been delayed though, so only Xbox360 and PC users will be able to partake in the value-laden collection for now. Just how much value? The retail is $50 for the PC, and $60 for both consoles.

In no way do we condone drugs of any kind on this site, but there is no doubt that pot is responsible for many great acts of creativity. Such as making a bong out of your N64 controller and triumphantly smoking it on your rooftop.

Some new details about Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix have been posted over at the Capcom Digital blog. While the team wanted to give us the first proper in-game screenshot, the party poopers at Capcom PR would rather keep such “big stuff” under their hat for an upcoming event.
Until then, we have some new artwork featuring Cammy and Bison, and some details on the all important netcode:
We’ve been doing a lot of work on netcode lately and it’s really working well. I can honestly say since the ‘first pass’ of the netcode, it’s been playing better than I’ve ever seen Hyper Fighter for XBLA. And this netcode hasn’t even been fully optimized yet. Also, that’s only with one out of the 2 network layers functioning. If everything goes as planned and the second layer comes online, there should be further improvement to the online play.
Hi-res Cammy after the jump.

When Activision found themselves unable to locate the master recordings for the Sex Pistols songs they wanted in Guitar Hero III, their solution was simple - get the band back in the studio.
You have to admire their attention to detail too - they managed to get three original band members, the original producer and the same analog sound desk that was used to record “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols” involved in the process.
Guitar Hero III will be available in the US on October 28, for the Wii, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 - including the Sex Pistols “Anarchy in the U.K” and other unannounced goodies.

A demo for Clive Barker’s Jericho will be released this Thursday, and in a rare, but much appreciated move, Codemasters have managed to organize a simultaneous release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC users.
Unless you’re a PlayStation 3 user in Europe, that is - in which case you’ll be waiting until next week…or setting yourself up a US-based PlayStation Network account.

Three new tracks have been confirmed to appear on the Rock Band disc, and all three are master recordings:
KISS - Detroit Rock City
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
This announcement brings the confirmed track list to 33 tracks, with just three being covers. This is sure to be a major point of difference in the coming fight with Guitar Hero III - too many of my favorite tracks that made it into Guitar Hero II were covers, some of them absolutely horrible.
