Canadians get Gran Turismo 5 Prologue free with DualShock 3 at Best Buy

April 21st, 2008

Best Buy offers free Gran Turismo 5 Prologue with a DualShock 3 purchase.

Canadians who spend CAN$59.99 on a DualShock 3 at any participating Best Buy store will be given a free copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, valued at CAN$39.99. That’s a pretty good deal for those of you who were hesitant to either pay for a demo, or replace a perfectly functional Sixaxis.

Canadian Wal-mart drops prices on PlayStation 3 bundle

October 1st, 2007

walmart-ps3-sale-canada.jpg

Canadian Wal-mart stores have taken a full $110 off the price of the 80GB PlayStation 3 bundle, bringing the price down to a very palatable $549.83. The bundle includes the console, a controller, MotorStorm, and a Blu-ray remote. The sale ends on October 4th, and many games are also heavily reduced.

With the Canadian dollar sitting near equal to the US dollar, this move brings the Canadian PlayStation 3 price to below that of the US - and when Sony’s warranty page dictates that the console is covered in both the US and Canada, it seems a border rush is in order for US gamers.

Xbox 360 price cut for Canada

August 8th, 2007

halo-3-xbox-360.jpg

Canadians need not feel left out of the Xbox 360 price drop any longer - on August 8, they get an even bigger price drop than their North American neighbors are waiting an additional four days for. New prices are as follows:

Core: CAD $299.99
Premium: CAD $399.99
Halo 3 Special Edition: CAD $449.99
Elite: CAD $499.99

OK Microsoft, when Canada has the Elite for less than the price of a Premium in Australia, and we don’t even have the Elite yet, is it clear enough yet which country needs the next dose of Microsoft love?
