Sony: surge protectors don’t void PS3 warranty

News that using a surge protector may void your PS3 warranty has been put to rest by Sony. A poster on the official PlayStation forums claimed he was told that his bricked console would not be covered by warranty because he used a surge protector.
Wired scooped up the story and called Sony, who said that surge protectors most certainly did not void your warranty, and have promised to contact the customer with the problem to sort out any misunderstandings.
