Street Fighter HD Remix beta opens June 25.

A beta for the ridiculously-named Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is scheduled to start on June 25. Only Ken and Ryu will be playable on one stage, with the test running for eight weeks. Capcom says testers will be able to submit bug reports and suggestions.

Tom Clancy’s EndWar Private Beta announced

Tom Clancy’s EndWar gets Private Beta for the Xbox 360.

Ubisoft will be running a Private Beta of Tom Clancy’s EndWar for three weeks in June and July. If you’ve got an Xbox 360, a Live Gold account, broadband, and 3GB of space left on your hard drive, head over to the signup page, verify your e-mail address, answer a whole bunch of questions, and cross your fingers. Oh, and it’s open to people outside the US - bravo, Ubisoft!

Free online FPS Combat Arms nears Beta

Australia gets MGO Premiere Beta, MGS 4 release date

Metal Gear Solid 4 arrives on June 12.

Konami has announced that the Metal Gear Online Premiere Beta will be open to Australians. Look for the free beta on the Australian PlayStation Store this Thursday (April 17) - play commences on April 21 and ceases May 6.

Atari has also confirmed the Australian release date for Metal Gear Solid 4 will be the same as the rest of the world - June 12, 2008.

MMORPG for the Wii shifts into beta

A browser-based MMORPG designed for the Wii has gone beta. The game, called HullBreach Online, is an RPG set in space, that lets you create a pilot and explore the universe. It still needs a lot of work, but the idea is promising and no doubt some will be devoting hours to it already. To play just sign up and download the beta here.

KartRider beta open for the US

After seducing a whopping 15 million Korean gamers with their online answer to Mario Kart, Nexon have opened the English KartRider beta to players in North America.

The game is free but new characters, carts and in-game items can be purchased for a small fee. With cute graphics and simple gameplay this is sure to be a casual gamer hit in the west.

Hellgate: London beta signups open to all

Hellgate: London is the spiritual successor to the massively popular Diablo series, under development by Flagship Studios - founded by a number of former Blizzard North employees who created Diablo.

Flagship’s idea of giving beta keys out only to customers who pre-ordered the game obviously didn’t achieve the kind of numbers they were expecting, so now everyone is welcome to sign up, albeit with no guarantee of getting in on the action.

Call of Duty 4 - Multiplayer Beta impressions

The leap to modern warfare may have sparked apprehension amongst some, but the COD series has never been one to disappoint. The good people at Activision were kind enough to hook us up with keys to COD4’s Xbox360-only multiplayer beta, and we soon got our teeth stuck into a multiplayer FPS that will soon keep members of the wider public awake till the wee hours of the morning and beyond.

Call of Duty 4 Beta registration opens today, hitting Australia eventually

Registration for the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer beta will open at 12 noon PST on August 27th (that’s soon.) Head over to charlieoscardelta.com to sign up - provided you have the pre-requisite Xbox 360.

Activision have also announced an upcoming release of the beta on Xbox Live for Australians. When, you say? All we have is a wonderfully vague release window of “before the game hits stores on November 7th.” Don’t hold your breath, kids!
