All aboard the rumor train! A list of achievements supposedly from the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV has been doing the rounds, and are now available here for your perusal. They certainly look legit to me - check the full list of achievements after the jump and let us know if you agree.

If there’s one thing our server stats tell us every month, it’s that you all love to know about the achievements in Xbox 360 games before they hit shelves - and we hate to disappoint. With 600 Gamerscore just from finishing the game, Lost Via Domus could be a hit with the achievement whores.

A forum poster by the name of “slugz” has proven that all you need to do is ask, and you will find the answers that you seek. He wrote an email to Valve asking nicely as to whether we could expect any additional achievements on Steam for the classic Valve Source games, and received this very promising reply from a Valve staffer:
“We’re planning on adding achievements to all of our games you touched on in your mail [Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Day of Defeat: Source and Counter-Strike: Source]. We’re just now coming out of the post-shipping haze, so these should start showing up on Steam pretty quick here. We’re also planning on adding a bunch more to TF2, starting with an achievement pack for the Medic in the next week or so.”

We know how you all like achievements, so we thought it would be nice to give you the World in Conflict achievement list for you to salivate over the weekend. The standard fair for a game is 1000 points worth of achievements, but World in Conflict goes above that and puts out 1005 points. Surely a must have title for any achievement whore. Some gamers are up in arms over Propaganda Games’ plans to include an achievement that encourages team killing in Turok. The achievement requires you to “kill at least 1 creature, 1 enemy, 1 teammate, and yourself in the same round of a public match”. Given the uproar over team killing being enabled in the Team Fortress 2 beta - even without an incentive to do so - we’re expecting mass tantrums when Turok launches. Could this be the first time achievements end up driving multiple-platform owners away from the Xbox 360 version?

Achivement whores will be salivating at the prospect of earning 1000 Gamerscore points from 5 achievements in under two minutes - and all they need to do is pick up a copy of Avatar: The Burning Earth, run to a particular spot at the start of the game, and press the B button repeatedly.

The grizzly shooter, Soldier of Fortune: Payback has gone gold, and we now have an achievement list. It’s sure to please the achievement whore in all of us, with some of them looking particularly easy. Soldier of Fortune: Payback is out November 13th on the PC and 360, and November 20th on the PS3.
