Sony is getting ready to release the PlayStation Eye on October 23, and have provided a bunch of details that might just perk your interest even if you don’t care for card games.

While we knew the Eye would be available as a bundle with The Eye of Judgment for USD$70, we now know it will also be available as a stand-alone product for $40.

The Eye is capable of 60 frames per second at 640×480 and 120 frames per second at 320×240, and also features an array of four built-in microphones, which apparently works great for AV chat and in-game voice chat - and there’s no denying that an online game without mouth-breathers is a good online game.

A piece of software called EyeCreate will be available for free from the PlayStation Store, which allows you to create and edit videos all on your PlayStation 3, and the upcoming SingStar PS3 will allow you to create your own music videos to share with friends and family.
