If the new US$499 price of the 60GB PS3 tickles your fancy, be warned - Sony have ceased production of the 60GB model. The price will remain at $499, but once the current stock is gone, your only choice will be an 80GB model at US$599. The 80GB model lacks the on-board PS2 hardware of it’s predecessors, so if backwards-compatibility is a big draw for you, you’ve got two reasons to buy in now. Sony promises there’s enough stock to last around four months, but something tells me demand will peak again once people realize the new price isn’t here forever.
