Tucked away on the floor of GC today was a new trailer for MGS4, in which we witnessed four of the game’s bosses wreaking plenty of havoc. You’ve got a four-tentacled Laughing Octopus, Screaming Mantis, Raging Raven and a Crying Wolf. As their names suggest, they are animal-based characters that appear to be some sort of human-metal-gear hybrid.

To bring you up to speed, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will include a host of traditional and reworked elements from the Metal Gear series. Zooming in to first person will complement the normal over-the-shoulder view, and close quarters combat looks to be revamped as well. A steel drum will replace the cardboard box hideout, with its ability to deflect bullets and knock enemies over.

The new camouflage suit, the “Octocamo” will blend you into surroundings without any of the effort required previously. Along with the addition of a robotic drone for reconnaissance and limited combat, there is also the ability to interrogate enemies for information and supplies.
