Grand Theft Auto IV Multiplayer modes revealed

Rockstar has released some information regarding the Team and Race multiplayer modes in Grand Theft Auto IV.
Team Deathmatch - Work as a team to smash the other players. Dead players drop cash, and the team with the most cash at the end of the round wins.
Team Mafiya Work - Complete contracts like escorting wanted criminals and stealing cars for a financial reward. Stop the other team from completing their contracts, and have the most cash when the round ends to win.
Team Car Jack City - Steal the marked cars placed around the city and take them to a drop off point. The more damaged the car, the less money you get for the job - unless it’s packed with drugs, in which case you’ll get the same amount.
Cops n’ Crooks - The crooks have to get their boss to safety, the cops have to take out the crooks. There are two sub-modes:
- All for One - Cops win by killing the boss, crooks win by getting the boss to the getaway vehicle and escaping.
- One for All - Cops win by killing all the crooks, crooks win by filling a getaway vehicle with 4 team members.
Turf War - A timed capture-the-base mode.

Race - Choose a number of laps, and a class of vehicle from the many cars, boats and helicopters available. Both ‘Free Race’ (point to point) and Cannonball Run (checkpoint based) sub-modes are available.
GTA Race - Just like Race mode, with weapon spawns and the ability to exit your vehicle.
Stay tuned for details of the Co-operative and Competitive Multiplayer modes.
