Edited Soldier of Fortune Payback gets Australian classification

Last month the OFLC refused classification for Activision’s Soldier of Fortune: Payback, making the distribution of the game illegal in Australia. Activision today announced that a revised version of the game been granted a classification of MA15+ and will be released in early 2008.
List of changes after the jump.
I asked Activision Australia what has been cut from the game, and got the following list:
- Reduced ragdoll physics
- No dismemberment with enemies (alive or dead)
- Toned down blood effects
We’ll have to wait and see if the game remains appealing without the gore.
Soldier of Fortune Payback will be released in early 2008 on the Xbox 360 (AUD$79.95), PC ($49.95) and the PlayStation 3 ($89.95).
