Assassin’s Creed Roundup: News, Gameplay Vids & Jade Raymond
It’s high time for an update on Assassin’s Creed, as you can almost count the days till its promised release on your toes and fingers. You can tell its gonna be a bumpy ride to the finish line, with news of a few development issues. But if you sit tight and get a load of these new gameplay videos, some of your worries may be eased.
In an interview with Pro-G, the game’s creative director Patrice Desilets, explained the problems they are currently facing in squeezing the game’s content onto a 360 DVD. Fitting it on the Blu-Ray format, however, was relatively easy. But the PS3 version is not without its share of issues. Memory problems specific to the console have made the process tougher than expected.
“Both have their own challenges. Right now we have a big challenge on the 360 to make it fit on a DVD, to put five languages, to put all the data on eight gigs. On the Blu-ray side we’re really good, but then the memory is quite different. How we handle memory is really different between the two machines and we’re struggling right now on the PS3.”
Desilets hopes to reassure us by saying they’ve been getting help from Microsoft and Sony to fix these last minute problems.
Gametrailers.com have a three part series of videos running you through an assassination mission in Monferrat. The clips 1 and 2 are more drool inducing tasters of the world of AC, while the third clip (shown above) is where you’ll find the kill, a chase scene and bulk of the action. But just like in previous AC videos, one gets the feeling that the combat has not yet been smoothed out – for such a realistic looking game, why the hell would 9 swordsmen stand idly about while you challenge each one by one?
Jade Raymond, the Ubisoft producer who possibly gets more media exposure than Altair himself, is rumored to be appearing as a cover girl on December’s Maxim issue which will feature girls of gaming. Despite only being a rumor, some people can barely contain their excitement, like the dude who initially posted it on the GT Forums:
