Over the weekend, Activision and Vivendi announced their plans to merge, creating Activision Blizzard - the world’s largest video game publisher. Vivendi will contribute Vivendi Games (valued at $8.1 billion) and $1.7 billion in cash, for an approximated 52% stake of Activision Blizzard.

The new company is expected to have approximately $3.8 billion in combined calendar 2007 revenues - and the highest operating margins of any third-party video game publisher.

Blizzard have posted an FAQ regarding the merger - and they seem confident that the deal will have absolutely no impact on day-to-day operations, their brand, their offices, their staff, their games or their release schedule.

Anyone else think World of Call of Duty would kick some serious ass?
