New Terminator game in the works

Halcyon Co., owners of the Terminator license are creating their own subsidiary game company to handle games of the franchise. The first game planned will be of the new feature film Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. The game will be set in a future during the war between Skynet and mankind. Co-CEOs of the new company, Peter Levin and Derek Anderson, talked about the reasons behind creating the subsidiary as opposed to trusting someone else with the license:
“When you own the intellectual property and have the creative control, you can make sure you’re publishing a top-tier video game that will satisfy the needs of the marketplace,” Levin said.
“We don’t want the game to be the stepchild to the film,” said Anderson. “They’re of equal importance, and we want both to be of the same quality and be the same compelling experience.”
Both the game and the movie are being released at the same time in 2009 and will appear on all next-gen consoles, PC and mobile.
Halcyon Co. will also be producing games based on the work of science fiction writer Philip K. Dick. The first of those games are expected to see the light in 2010.
