EA acquires VG Holdings Corp

Today Electronic Arts acquired VG Holdings Corp, parent company of developers Pandemic Studios and BioWare. Clearly acknowledging the talent lying within, EA parted with $860 million, making it the largest deal in their history.
Its no surprise BioWare would be considered hot property with Mass Effect just around the corner, and its prior success with the KoTOR and Neverwinter Nights titles. And with Pandemic’s Mercenaries 2 shaping up to give GTA IV a run for its money, you could see why this deal was appetizing to ever-hungry EA.
But whether or not the notorious EA do a decent job of nurturing BioWare and Pandemic’s talent remains to be seen.
