IDG Worldwide, organizers of the E for All Expo, has announced that 18,000 people attended for the inaugural E for All, held at the LA Convention Center last week. The event is set for next year, with an August date planned. IDG CEO Mary Dolaher is pleased with the numbers:

We are thrilled with the attendance, and we are pleased that we delivered the event we aimed for, which was a celebration that truly was for the entire game community.

Chalk me up as more than a little surprised IDG went so close to meeting targets, and completely unable to grasp how moving next years E for All to clash with the long established Penny Arcade Expo fits in with their “all inclusive” mission statement.
