Japan gets 1seg Digital TV receiver for the Nintendo DS

Nintendo of Japan have unveiled their 1seg Digital TV tuner for the Nintendo DS…and we don’t blame you for not having heard of 1seg before - it’s a Digital TV service run in Japan.
The rather unsightly peripheral allows you to watch TV on the top screen, and use the touch screen as a remote control. While you might think this would be perfect for a long train ride, handheld 1seg receivers cannot be used on anything faster than a skateboard - this is an unfortunate limitation of the 1seg technology itself.
The device will be available in Japan on November 20 for ¥6800 - that’s just under USD$60.
