Assassin’s Creed books scrapped

What would be your first thought when you read that the Assassin’s Creed series of books have been scrapped? If you think it was because the books probably sucked, you’re wrong - according to writer Dar Kush.
Kush says on his blog that the books were fine, and trouble started when the video game company was paid a visit from the descendants of real-life assassins. Being of the Ismaeli sect led by the Agha Khan in India, they were not happy out the religious references in the book. Kush says:
“They…suggested that Ubisoft, the game company, show more respect for their ancestors, and Ubisoft went all pitter-patter.”
With the unhappy parties wanting the religious references pulled, the publishing company finally decided that it was best to scrap the project. I don’t know about everyone else but this makes the game all the more tantalizing for me.
