Ars Technica’s man on the inside has dug up some information on Rock Band. Although not substantiated by EA or Harmonix, the source claims a suggested retail price of US$199.99 for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. The package will include a guitar, drum kit and microphone - and weighs in at a hefty 20 pounds.

PS3 owners will be happy to discover that the guitar in their package will be wireless, while the Xbox 360 guitars will be wired. While wireless Xbox 360 guitars look to be available separately at US$80, I’d say a majority of gamers with access to both platforms will be choosing the PS3 version should this information turn out to be accurate.
