Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 to feature “simulation” (cheating) mechanic

During the many hours I spent sitting in the bar at Leipzig NH hotel knocking back several well-earned double-Jack-and-Cokes, with no less than three televisions in eye-shot at any given stage, and all of them playing soccer, I had ample time to stew on the fact I truly despise the sport.
My main issue? Simulation, better known in layman’s terms as the regular, painful displays of un-sportsman-like behavior, where players dive to the ground in the hope the opposing team will receive a penalty for a foul they did not commit.
In what will undoubtedly be considered an unfortunate move, even by some raving fans of the sport (and the PES series) Konami has decided to add a mechanic to the upcoming 2008 version of Pro Evolution Soccer allowing players to press two shoulder buttons to take a dive.
Love it? Hate it? Think I lack taste in sports? Leave a comment.
