Create your own Ninja Gaiden II achievement

Let’s face it, you and I will never be ninjas. No - don’t start on that “I have the will of a ninja” crap, it’s just not going to happen…unless my recently discovered loophole pays off. Gamerscore Blog are currently taking submissions for your very own achievement to be sent off to Team Ninja to be considered for Ninja Gaiden II. Surely by telling a ninja what to achieve you are not only a ninja yourself but a ninja leader! Genius, I know - now get submitting.

Yet another price drop has arrived for the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel. Previously US$130, you can now pick one up for a reasonable US$99 along with a demo of Forza Motorsport 2. With the imminent release of Burnout Paradise you would be crazy not take them up on the offer.

Blood Bowl brings orcs to football

Blood-Bowl-3

Ever thought that regular football was a bit tame, and that it could do with a healthy dose of orcs? Well, someone in the late 80’s obviously did when they created the table top game Blood Bowl, which features an American League Football style game in the Warhammer universe. Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studios are bringing Blood Bowl into the 21st century with a video game adaptation that is quite unique, in that nerds and jocks will love the subject matter.

The game features two modes of play, a standard sports game mode like Madden , and a faithful-to-the-original table top mode. Blood Bowl should be out late 2008 for both PC and Xbox 360.

Ninja Gaiden II features regenerating health

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

Good news for those who got schooled playing the first Ninja Gaiden - the next installment of the series will feature regenerating health, making it far more noob-friendly than prior installments. Of course, including such a feature will always incite an angry response from the hardcore gamers, so Team Ninja has included a modifiable limiter that regulates the percentage of health recoverable from damage. To hear it from the man himself, watch the above video of Tomonobu Itagaki explaining the reason behind the change and how it works.

Bionic Commando will not feature lock-on swinging

Monday, January 14th, 2008

This new clip from Capcom explains Bionic Commando’s swinging action. If you were thinking it would simply be an automatic lock-on system like the Spider-Man games then think again – Bionic Commando is going to require some skill. I’m sure the game will get intuitive once you get the hang of it, but it’s possible the beginning difficulty will deter a few gamers.

Goldeneye for Xbox Live Arcade put on indefinite hold

Monday, January 14th, 2008

goldeneye-xbox-live-arcade.jpg

You might have been ecstatic when we reported that Goldeneye was soon coming to Live Arcade, but it’s time to change your Myspace moods to depressed because the game has been put on an indefinite hold. The reason behind the unfortunate turn of events is a licensing disagreement between Microsoft and Nintendo. It’s no wonder really, given Nintendo probably want their legendary game on their own arcade service.

Want even more hurt? The game was only 2 months away from release and included all the maps and weapons of the original. Worst of all it was all set up for online multiplayer.

If you are of the opinion that online petitions have actually achieved anything, then you might want to head over to this one and help reverse the decision.

Xbox Evolved have reportedly seen evidence of a recent agreement between Activision, Rareware and MGM Studios that will see the Nintendo 64 classic Goldeneye 007 released on the Xbox Live Arcade.

The game will feature updated graphics and multiplayer over Xbox Live, and is planned for release shortly before the release of the new Bond game from Activision.
