Devil May Cry 4 Review (PlayStation 3).

The first Devil May Cry was one of the standout titles in the action genre last generation, and while the inevitable sequels moved millions of units, they failed to better the original - and by the third game, Capcom had increased the difficulty to a level that turned away all but the most hardcore. Devil May Cry 4 shows a decided effort to cater for a wider audience - it’s the first game of the series to grace Microsoft hardware, and newcomers can select the Human difficulty level and a new Automatic mode to turn their button mashing into elaborate and deadly combos.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Review.

There’s a lot of people out there who have waited a long time to play a “proper” Gran Turismo on the PlayStation 3. The free Gran Turismo HD Concept was a gift welcomed by many, however with one track and ten cars, it was relatively short lived. With the full Gran Turismo 5 due in 2009, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is Polyphony Digital’s latest attempt to kill the hunger pains - and it’s another demo - this time, with a price tag.

Assassin’s Creed.

Ubisoft’s massively hyped Assassin’s Creed is an interesting one - an ambitious mix of history and science-fiction, with action and stealth gameplay. Ubisoft and Jade Raymond, producer of the game, certainly had no trouble drumming up a massive buzz for the game - but did the game come through with the goods?

Zero Punctuation: The Witcher

Yahtzee doesn’t hold back today, as he gets stuck into this RPG. I had a feeling this isn’t his genre of choice, too. Be sure to keep watching after the review for some additional funny.

Zero Punctuation: Mass Effect

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

This week Yahtzee pokes fun at the horrendously popular RPG Mass Effect. This has got to be one of his funniest efforts yet, complete with dick jokes, nerd predictability and Bruce Campbell.

Zero Punctuation: Guitar Hero III

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

It’s that time of the week again, and this time Yahtzee is ripping into the soft flesh of the darling of the musical game world, Guitar Hero III. While the gaming public has gone Guitar Hero III crazy, Yahtzee is decidedly more subdued and proclaims that the change of developers “stopped Guitar Hero being fun.”

Yahtzee’s game gets reviewed

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

A clever YouTuber has given Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw a taste of his own medicine by reviewing his game, TRILBY: Art of Theft in Yahtzee’s signature style. While some of it is a bit hard to understand thanks to an overzealous level of speed-talking combined with an American accent, it is none the less a good review and parody. Here’s hoping we get a response from Yahtzee.

Lair (PlayStation 3) Review

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

lair-1

An overwhelming majority of the gaming press would have you believe that Lair is one of the worst games released for the PlayStation 3 - it achieved a Metacritic rating of just 54/100 and even spawned a number of piss-taking Penny Arcade comics. After spending a good week with the game, we’ve got a surprisingly different impression - and a bone to pick with the fickle hive mind that is the gaming media.
