A few lucky people have been allowed to try out Capcom’s new 2D fighter Sengoku Basara X, and have reported their findings. Read on for the lowdown, and a video of the game in action.

The private showings of Basara X had the game housed in the new Viewlix Taito cabinet, with a flat-panel monitor capable of 720P - the same unit used by Battle Fantasia and King of Fighters Maximum Impact Regulation A - although the decision to stay on this arcade kit has not yet been finalized.

SBX will feature a “Reinforcement System” where you can call in a companion for support during a battle, ala X-Men vs Street Fighter. The control scheme will employ the standard 3 attack buttons, plus one reinforcement button to initiate attacks, assists and counter-assists by your reinforcement partner.

The four different move-sets are said to be near-identical to those in the Guilty Gear series, albeit coming through a host of 10 characters with different speed, power and range.
